A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen.


A Maintenance Technician will  be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility. Some tasks a Maintenance Technician may be called upon to do include, and is not limited to:


  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair.
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
  • Repairing/eliminating potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Painting the apartments when old paint has become faded or chipped.
  • Replacing flooring when needed.
  • Assisting with apartment remodels that can include replacing the cabinetry and drywall/paneling.
  • Responding to tenant maintenance requests in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical and other systems.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.
  • Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including but not limited to hand and hand-held power tools.
  • -Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and household devices.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and advance in your career.


Physical Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to type, handle, or feel. The employee is also regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, and climb, stoop, or squat. Employee must be able to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the property and amenities. The employee must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to fifty (50) pounds. Local travel is required to assist properties and tenants as needed and the use of a company vehicle during office hours is allowed and encouraged.
